Embassy Legalisation and Embassy Endorsement
LEGALISATION & ENDORSEMENT PROCEDURE
Performed at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Putrajaya (Wisma Putra) and at the respective Embassy/Foreign Mission)
The following procedure is practiced and applies to most major foreign Embassies’ requirements, as original Malaysian certificates (e.g. Marriage Cert., Birth Cert., Death Cert. Statement of Marital status, etc.) require prior LEGALISATION by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Putrajaya (Wisma Putra) and by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Sabah/Sarawak for certificates issued in East-Malaysia and by the respective Foreign Embassy thereupon. Any translation for submission destined for official purposes must be officially ENDORSED/CERTIFIED by the respective Embassy.
1) Please legalize your original Malaysian certificate(s) such as birth, marriage, divorce, single status or death certificate) that you wish to have translated at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Putrajaya (Wisma Putra).
Note: Legalisation is NOT required nor applicable to educational documents and certificates. It only applies to documents of LEGAL nature
2) Email or hand us your legalized document(s) for translation (since the legalization stamp of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is generally affixed at the back of the certificate, please scan & email the back of the certificate as well since the legalization stamp must be translated as well).
3) After completion of translation, we can endorse/certify the translation for you at the respective Foreign Embassy if required and/or applicable.
Remark: Legalization from the respective Embassy may also be necessary for official personal documents such as Birth, marriage, divorce, single status or death certificates).
